Ubatuba is one of the most popular seaside towns along Sao Paulo coast, with many beautiful beaches and the abundant Atlantic Rain Forest on its hillsides. This is the place for those that want to experience the rich fauna and flora in the State Park of Serra do Mar and for those that enjoy surfing and other nautical sports or just enjoy the sun and sea at one of Ubatubas beaches.
Ubatuba is located in the state of Sao Paulo, 234km from São Paulo City, and 324km from Rio de Janeiro City. There live about 67.000 people, but during high season the population increase three times or more. The distance to Ilhabela is approx 85km, to Caraguatatuba 55km, to Paraty 75km, to Guaruja/Santos 213/225km, and to the port in Angra dos Reis 175km.
Ubatuba’s climate is humid temperate. And the region’s annual average temperature is 21ºC, with highs of 28ºC and lows of 15ºC.
HOW TO GO: Main access highways: Leaving São Paulo city you will have two options. One is taking Presidente Dutra highway or Ayrton Senna/Carvalho Pinto highway up to São José dos Campos, following along Tamoios highway up to Caraguatatuba and Rio-Santos highway (toward Rio de Janeiro) up to Ubatuba. The other way is by means of Presidente Dutra or Ayrton Senna/Carvalho Pinto highway up to Taubaté, following along Osvaldo Cruz highway straight to Ubatuba.
